Yard-Core Seeds Of Life Association
Yard-Core Seeds of Life is a non-profit association dedicated to advocating and educating future generations on becoming self-sufficient by cultivating their own produce. The communities the association focuses on (but is not limited to) are Afro-Caribbean communities in the Calgary area.
The association is built to help spread awareness and education about how important it is to be self-sufficient regarding food.
A play on words that resonates with people of Caribbean and in general people of Afro-Caribbean and African descent.
Yard (Yaad) in Jamaican patois means home. It connotes a sense of belonging, security, and cultural identity.
Core – the part of something that is central to its existence or character
Seeds of Life – connotes the source of sustainable cycle of healthy living.
Altogether Yard-Core Seeds of Life is the essence of a sustainable healthy mind and body.
